Wexford manager David Power has admitted that he would welcome back dual star Daithi Waters to the fold, but stressed it is unlikely to happen.

Waters opted to throw in his lot with the Wexford hurlers this year, but his form for St Martin's in the opening two rounds of the club SFC has set tongues wagging again.

However, Power stressed to the Wexford People that the door had been left open for Waters, but no talks have taken place.

"If I thought that he was interested, and was interested in making himself available, I would certainly be interested in sitting down and talking," said Power.

"It's not on the horizon at the moment but one never closes the door. At the moment we are returning to training this week and have two challenge games arranged, with a squad weekend coming up in June. That's our thinking at the moment."
