Westmeath are celebrating a famous win over Wexford while Laois put three goals past neighbours Offaly.

The final whistle in Innovate Wexford Park was greeted with scenes of jubilation from Westmeath's players who scored a thoroughly deserved 2-11 to 0-15 victory over the Model County.

The Lake County held a slender 0-8 to 0-7 half-time advantage and two second-half goals from Paddy Doody and Cillian Doyle sent John Greville's charges on the road to victory.

The Larry Coleman coached Wexford were on level terms entering the final stages but were left to rue the concession of two late points to Killian Doyle and Ciaran Doyle.

Meanwhile, in O'Moore Park, the home side held off a strong second-half showing from Offaly to run out 3-15 to 1-13 winners.

Pat Critchley's side made the most of wind advantage to go in at the break with a six point lead.

Goals from Stephen Phelan and Mark Kavanagh separated the sides at the halfway stage - 2-7 to 0-7 - and Robbie Phelan raised his side's third green flag late on to put the issue beyond any doubt.

Westmeath and Laois now join Kilkenny and Dublin in the semi-final draw which takes place on Monday night.
