There were wins for Wexford, Westmeath and Meath in the first round of the Leinster MHC today.

In Tier 2, Wexford overturned a six-point half-time deficit to run out 2-13 to 0-17 winners against Laois at Innovate Wexford Park.

The Model County trailed by 2-4 to 0-16 at the change of ends but came good in the second-half and next up is a home tie against Kilkenny or Dublin.

In Tier 3, Westmeath experienced little difficulty in disposing of Wicklow's challenge on a scoreline of 5-19 to 0-4 in Rathdrum and their reward is a home clash against Carlow.

Meath, meanwhile, also registered five goals as they got the better of Kildare by 5-11 to 1-11 in Trim and will be up against Laois next time out.
