Liam Dunne could afford to smile after Wexford beat Offaly away from home for the first time since 1973.
The Slaneysiders' long wait for a win on Offaly soil came to an end yesterday when they recorded a 2-15 to 0-12 success at O'Connor Park to keep up their promotion push in Division 1B of the Allianz League.
"You'd have to happy any time you come away from Tullamore with a nine-point victory," the Wexford manager said.
"If you look at the programme today, we haven't come away from Tullamore or Birr with a victory too often in the past."
The only negative for Dunne was Wexford's tally of 17 wides.
"I was concerned that we didn't kick on more with the opportunities we had. We hit five wides in two minutes at one stage which at this level is not good enough, but it gives us something to work on.
"We don't come up here too often and get victories and I'm delighted that we won the game. With four points on the board, we can't complain. We're probably into a league quarter-final now, but we want to push on a little further."
