Shore to learn fate

Wexford hurler Andrew Shore will travel to Newcastle in the U.K this weekend to have his appeal against a 48-week ban heard.

Shore received the ban after it was found that he was illegal to play for Birmingham club Roger Casements in a tournament game last October.

The Wexford defender's paperwork is believed to have not gone through on time for him to line out with the club and he was subsequently handed a 48-week ban by the Warwickshire County Board.

However, his appeal will be heard in Newcastle this Saturday and the former Davidstown-Courtnacuddy player who now lines out for Dublin club Parnells is keeping his fingers crossed that the ban will be reduced.

If not, Shore will miss out on the entire campaign at both club and county level and he would be a huge loss to Liam Dunne's plans for the year.
