It may only be the second Sunday in January, but today is one of the busiest days on the 2015 GAA calendar.

No fewer than 26 games will take place in the various pre-season football and hurling competitions. The third round of the O'Byrne Cup and the first round of the Walsh Cup takes centre stage in Leinster, while it's quarter-final day in the McGrath Cup where Tommy Walsh is expected to play his first game for Kerry in five years against IT Tralee.

There are five second round ties down for decision in the McKenna Cup, and four in the Connacht FBD League.

There are also opening round games taking place in the Waterford Crystal Cup and in the new Connacht SHL.
