County final day at last

November 12, 2014

Following a prolonged campaign, the Wexford senior football championship final will take place this Sunday.

A number of issues transpired against the fixtures makers that prolonged the championship with the dual quest of St Anne's and Shelmaliers being one of the main reasons for the delay.

However, after last Sunday's county semi-final win for St Anne's over their fierce rivals, we are finally down to the last two.

Gusserane will provide the opposition in the decider at Wexford Park on Sunday afternoon and they go into the match as slight favourites.

The main reason for this tag is that St Anne's must line up without the influential Liam Og McGovern who was shown a straight red card during the semi-final win over Shelmaliers.
