Wexford SHC: Shels reach first final

Shelmaliers are through to their first Wexford SHC final following a surprise 1-11 to 0-11 victory over Ferns/St. Aidan's in yesterday's semi-final.

Their opponents in the decider will be SHC and SFC double-chasing St. Anne's, who accounted for Glynn-Barntown 2-9 to 0-11 in the other semi-final.

Having trailed by 0-5 to 0-7 at half-time, Shelmaliers fought back in the second half, taking the lead in the 46th minute through a Joe Kelly goal. Kelly finished as the game's top scorer with a personal tally of 1-7.

St. Anne's needed late goals from Padraic O'Keeffe and county star Liam Og McGovern to see off Glynn-Barntown after trailing by 0-3 to 0-4 at half-time.
