Wexford ladies not happy with county board

Disappointed Wexford players after losing out to Offaly in the 2013 All Ireland Ladies JFC final at Croke Park. INPHO

The decision to schedule Wexford senior football and hurling championship games for the same day as the county's All-Ireland junior ladies football final against New York hasn't gone down well with many.

Wexford will face the Exiles at Croke Park on Sunday, September 28 and the ladies are furious with the county board for not keeping this date free so that all supporters would have the opportunity to attend the All-Ireland final.

A message posted on the Wexford ladies football Facebook page today summed up the mood: "Last night Wexford County GAA board made the decision to play hurling and football matches on the same day that our Wexford Ladies Football team play their All Ireland Final in Croke Park v New York .

"What are fathers, brothers, boyfriends, cousins and friends meant to do ?"

The sense of anger extended to the Wexford ladies football twitter account: "Outrage among Wexford supporters as Wexford County Board fix games for @LadiesFootball All Ireland Sunday."

Surely the two boards can come to some sort of an arragement on the matter?
