Wexford footballers' loss is Wexford hurlers gain as Daithi Waters will join Liam Dunne's squad for the 2015 campaign.
Waters has decided to throw his lot in with the hurling squad next year and has ruled out the possibility of carrying out a dual status at county level.
The St Martin's clubman is currently recovering from an ankle injury as he bids to help his club retain the Wexford senior football championship title and he admitted to the Wexford People that lining out with the hurlers next year is a distinct possibility.
"At the moment I am totally concentrating on trying to be fit for the club. I'm determined to help try and retain the senior football title," said Waters.
"I was at Saturday's gathering. It's something I'm juggling with but I have a number of footballers who I have played with for a long time to contact. I would like to give the hurling a real shot."
