Wexford under-21 footballer Donal Shanley has taken up the offer of a three-year soccer scholarship in the U.S.

A dual star, the Fintan's clubman represented Wexford in both grades at minor level last year and was part of this year's under-21 football squad.

Many had tipped Shanley to be part of the Wexford senior football squad next year, but instead, having impressed while playing for Wexford Youths, he has been offered the scholarship, which he has decided to take.
