Wexford hurler Tomas Waters took another step in his battle back to full fitness at the weekend.

Waters has been sidelined since suffering a horrific knee injury while playing for Wexford against Clare in the 2013 All-Ireland qualifiers.

Following a number of operations and a lengthy rehabilitation stint, Waters came on for the last 15 minutes of St Martin's SHC win over Adamstown at the weekend.

This is the first step in what the player hopes will see him return to the county scene for next year's campaign and what an addition he will bring to the ever-improving side.
