Lee Chin won't be togging out of for the Wexford senior football team any time soon.

Speaking after picking up the GAA GPA Opel Player of the Month award for July, the talented Chin ruled out the possibility of him trying to combine both codes at inter-county level.

"Yeah, unfortunately it won't be happening," Chin informed the Examiner.

"I don't think I'd like to sacrifice the hurling again. At the moment I think I am progressing. I obviously progressed this year more so than any other year and that is totally down to playing just hurling.

"I'll continue what I am doing at the moment so football is out for me."

Buoyed by the progress made by the Model County under Liam Dunne this year, the midfielder is optimistic about the future.

"It's a bright future, I believe. Next year, we will just regroup as a team, and refocus.

"Being realistic, an All-Ireland is probably a bit far for us at the moment. But we have set our eyes on a Leinster title and that's what we are hoping for and maybe get to a Leinster final next year."
