What they said ... the hurling weekend in quotes

"I have no great interest in winning the last or the first at the stadium, that doesn't worry me. I wanted to get silverware for the Cork public and supporters, but particularly the team and the players who have gone through a bit with us now."

There was no Pairc Ui Chaoimh sentiment as far as Jimmy Barry-Murphy was concerned.

"I thought I'd be getting curly finger. Thank God anyway the goal went in. It just broke my way and it all opened up and, before I knew it, I was in!"

Seamus Harnedy relived his goal that sent the Rebels on the road to victory.

"Munster finals are for winning and we didn't win it, it wasn't to be. To me, the key turning points were a couple of turnovers in the second half."

Limerick and TJ Ryan didn't give up their title without a fight.

"I'm a bit disillusioned with everything, even within our own county. I absolutely love the bones of them guys (players). I'm going to keep my head down and think about it for a few months but the thing I want you to write about is the great game."

Davy Fitzgerald was non-committal on his future as Clare supremo following the defeat to Wexford.

"You've Derek McGrath and Waterford waiting in the long grass now but we're delighted to be going to Nowlan Park and Clare have been great All-Ireland champions."

Wexford's Liam Dunne was eager to put their dramatic win over the All-Ireland champions into perspective.

"I'm an Offaly man and to train your county team is the highest honour in your county."

Brian Whelahan wants to stay on as Offaly senior hurling manager.

"We are not happy. I don't mean that with any disrespect to winning the game, but we are not happy with our own level. Offaly brought something to the game and that should be acknowledged."

Despite a 17-point winning margin, Tipperary boss Eamon O'Shea says his team have plenty to improve on.

"Derry were fantastic there, they gave it everything. They had nothing to lose, we have everything to lose and we had to drag ourselves up (after the Offaly game). Two weeks to do it was nearly impossible."

Kevin Ryan were made to fight all the way by Derry before securing their 13th Ulster SHC success in-a-row.

"I was bitterly disappointed with that decision."

Derry manager Ger Rogan, a former Antrim hurler, wasn't impressed with the red card issued to Tiarnan McCloskey in the 29th minute.
