Wexford manager Aidan O'Brien admits that their Division Three campaign has been very mixed.
The Model County must beat Longford on Sunday to avoid relegation to Division Four in a make or break game for both counties.
Last weekend's hammering by Fermanagh did little to inspire confidence in the Wexford camp, but O'Brien is hoping that they can lift themselves for one more game.
Speaking to the Wexford People, he stated that their campaign to date had seen some positives and many negatives as they battle to avoid the drop.
"In the context of the league, this is a hugely important game as we need to get a win to stay in Division Three. It's not where we wanted to be but this game will determine whether we play in Division Three or Division Four next season.
"In the series of games we have played well within them, and also played poorly. Last Sunday was yet another example. The first half was the poorest display of football from the side I've seen for a long time. There was a period in the first half against Fermanagh when we completely lost our way. They just seemed to score at will."
