Pauric Mahony is still the top scoring player after the latest round of the Allianz hurling league but the chasing pack is closing in.

The Deise star has 1-37 so far with Roscommon's Gerry Fallon three points further back. However, big hitters Seamus Callanan of Tipperary and Cork's Pat Horgan are only four behind the Waterford man after each had a good weekend.

The top scorers in each division are Mahony (1A); Horgan of Cork (1B); Shane Nolan, Kerry (2A); Mattie Lennon, Armagh (2B); Fallon, Roscommon (3A) and Padraig O'Donnell, Leitrim (3B).

In the goal scoring charts Tipperary's Seamus Callanan is out in front with five goals, while Colin Fennelly (Kilkenny) has three. Six players are on three majors each.

The highest individual score during the competition so far is Callanan's 3-6 against Kilkenny.
