FL3: Brosnan nets crucial goal for Model

March 17, 2014

Wexford's Ben Brosnan
Wexford 2-12
Sligo 1-12

Ben Brosnan's second half goal secured Wexford a second win of the Allianz FL Division 3 campaign against Sligo at Wexford Park.

Brosnan's 52nd minute strike proved to be the difference between the sides at the final whistle and helped ease the pressure on Model County manager Aidan O'Brien.

Sligo were left to rue a missed penalty by Adrian Marren in the 17th minute and they trailed by 1-3 to 1-6 at the change of ends.

PJ Banville and Pat Hughes exchanged goals during the opening 35 minutes.

Despite playing into the breeze, the hosts enjoyed the better of the second half exchanges and Brosnan's green flag secured the two points.
