Wexford camogie's woes continued yesterday when they were only able to field 13 players against Galway in the National League and were duly handed a 45-point hammering.

Galway won the Division 1 clash on an eye-watering 9-23 to 1-2 scoreline, with eight of their goals coming in the first half. Sportingly, the Tribeswomen agreed to withdraw two of their players for the second half, but they still won by a cricket score.

The defeat came a week after Wexford - who were All-Ireland champions as recently as 2012 - were unable to field against Cork. Martin Carey resigned as manager a few days earlier and was replaced by Mick Curran in a caretaker capacity.
