Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald has revealed that they have a number of injury concerns ahead of the start of the NHL.

The Model County take on Kilkenny in the Walsh Cup semi final on Sunday, but Fitzgerald is looking ahead to the league opener against Limerick.

Goalkeeper Mark Fanning is currently on the injured list as is Rory O’Connor, Damien Reck, Paul Morris and Lee Chin with all set to miss out on this weekend’s clash.

Fitzgerald admitted to the Wexford People that both O’Connor and Reck are long term absentees and may not feature in the league at all.

“It will be at least mid-February before O’Connor and Reck will feature,” said Fitzgerald. “We’ve four weeks training behind us. The lads may be somewhat tired with the heavy training, but we are looking ahead to the Limerick game.”
