Wexford star Cathal Dunbar had a long day on Saturday waiting to hear whether or not his appeal against his sending off in the county SHC semi-final would be upheld.

The Naomh Eanna club appealed against the one-game suspension handed to Dunbar and the county panellist had to wait until 11.30pm on Saturday night to hear that he was free to play in the county final against St Martin’s the next day.

Dunbar’s availability proved invaluable for the Gorey outfit as they defeated the defending champions with Dunbar chipping in with 0-04 from play.

The club were informed by text message of the DRA’s decision meaning that Dunbar most likely slept well on Saturday night!
