Wexford are sweating over the fitness of Rory O'Connor ahead of their Leinster SHC round robin clash against Kilkenny at Nowlan Park on Saturday evening.

O'Connor suffered a hand injury in the defeat to Galway last weekend and speculation is increasing that the St Martin's clubman will not be fit for this weekend.

The hand is badly swollen at the moment and that has to go down before the full extent of the injury can be diagnosed.

The youngster has had a fine campaign so far, taking on the free taking duties for the Model County in this year's championship, while he has also been a scoring threat from play.

This week will be all be about rest and rehabilitation work for Wexford as they come into their fourth championship week in a row, while Kilkenny had last weekend off.
