Bit worrying to see a few clubs conceding league games already in the year. Shandonagh and Malachys conceding in ACFL2 and CFCW in ACFL3 this weekend. Can understand 2nd/3rd teams of sometimes later in the year when they are out of championship.

I wouldn't worry about Shandonagh and Malachys not fielding, between hurling weddings and injuries they just didn't have the numbers, in my opinion you're still looking at the 2 favourites for the intermediate championship

I think Milltownpass might have something to say about that!

Bunbrosna probably still have the best team in the intermediate

If they have absolutely everyone available. Which is difficult as they are getting on in years. They don't have any depth to their panel, but if they have their full complement then will be hard beaten.

Bunbrosna are a spent force. Can't see them featuring at all this year.
Tang have been knocking on the door but don't have the depth of a squad to win it out.

Shandonagh and Milltownpass are the two strongest teams this year. How Malachys go will depend on how much they commit to the hurling with Castletown.

Same manager for Malachys and CTG so I'd say they'll be focused on both

I don't see anyone talking about Rochfortbridge? A division 1 team really well organised , they won't be far off it, for me it's still Malachys and Shandonagh no one will come near them, Milltownpass don't have the panel or forwards I seen them last year kick 20 wides against Shandonagh

I don't think Rochfortbridge have enough experienced players to really challenge this year. This year is too early for them.

Your saying Rochfordbridge won't be far off and nobody will come near Malachys or Shandonagh in the same sentence, bit of contradiction there??

So hard to call intermediate really, you have a few teams who there won't be more than 2/3 points between if they play each other, You have Tang and Tubberclair who are always there or there abouts. Malachys just down from Senior plus The Bridge and Milltownpass seem to be pushing on this year , it will be competitive as ever. Shandonagh very unlucky in the semi final last year , only lost to Rosemount by a point, who went on to win it. They will hope to have a say too.

Ballynacargy are the hottest of favourites and I can't see them being stopped. I think Kilbeggan will be their closest challengers. It's a group of death now and maybe Multy won't make the playoffs.

Bal would be odds on favourites pretty much.. I think there is daylight between them and the other teams. They are far too strong for Junior level. The usual suspects Kilbeggan, Multy and Pauls will be their nearest challengers.

Anyone know how qualification to the knockouts work? I have heard top 2 from group containing the top Junior clubs go straight to a semi, 3rd goes straight to a qf and 4th is involved in a playoff for a qf spot.
