Westmeath - New Senior Manager

I think dessie with cunningham would be a good choice but dessie would be crazy to give up punditry to get involved with westmeath

I don't think you can compare McStay to Dessie
McStay won a club AI with St Brigids in Roscommon and was even managing the Roscommon minors back in the 90s

No but Luke Dempsey had a slot on the radio 1 commentary after he left the Westmeath job. When he managed Carlow and Longford I don't think he got the gig back since. I'd imagine it pays well but if you walk away its probably very difficult to get back in.

Emmett McDonnell anyone ? Surely brought in last year to be next in line for promotion ? Former Offaly senior manager as ye know !!
Don't know him personally but surprised at no mention of him to date.

No disrespect to McDonnell, but do we really need another Offaly reject? Anthony Cunningham is a far better option IMO, if he has any interest. But with a few hurling jobs becoming available, I'd imagine he'll be in the running for some of them.

Visit true a Pat Flanagan return could be on the cards?

I wont use aggressive or threatening language towards the CB on this, but if they did do that...yea, lets hope theres no truth in that one.

Pete McGrath anyone? Not an advocate but his record speaks for itself I guess, and he'd probably be amenable to the move, you would think within our budget also...
Luke Dempsey return? Could do worse...I'm stickin with Cooney on a card with Keane and Wilson, potentially Flano aswell if he was keen to get involved. If results were rubbish next year I'd be happy to take the slack, but theres 4 men who have don the maroon with powerful distinction, who the current panel watched on from and admired from the terraces, and if those men dont get the most out of this group nothing will.

I doubt Luke would walk away from Lomans.
