Feis Cup Final Shambles

The Feis Cup final fixed for Sunday morning in Cusack Park was cancelled 'due to a clash of fixtures between the Feis Cup final and the Intermediate Hurling Championship' according to the official notification 'and will be refixed at a later date'. This debacle is regretted by the Mullingar Shamrocks Club as apart from players and mentors making arrangements for Sunday morning, the club had made preparations to have our Under-8, Under-10 and Under-12 squads attend the final and make an occasion of the event

Westmeath Ladies Football Senior Championship: Moate 1-11 Mullingar Shamrocks 2-7

After a battling performance, our senior ladies football team without Tara and Melek Fagan and Niamh and Cliodhna Spellman ended up on the wrong side of 1 1-11 to 2-7 scoreline in Moate on Thursday night. On the same night Killucan defeated St Mary's Rochfortbridge, a result that means our girls will most likely now have a battle to avoid relegation.

Mullingar Shamrocks and Millmore Gaels share the spoils!

The underage footballers of Mullingar Shamrocks and Millmore Gaels shared the spoils this week in their two engagements. In the final Under-16 League match of the season, Shamrocks travelled to Ballinagore and produced their best form of the season to defeat the home combination in a high scoring extravaganza 4-10 to 1-15; Millmore Gaels exacted some measure of revenge in the Under-14 Championship in Springfield on Saturday evening in another match that produced a feast of scores. Shamrocks held a single point lead as the match entered its final stages but Millmore Gaels grasped a victory from the jaws of defeat and were 5-13 to 5-7 ahead at the final whistle.
