Gaa: we took on Tyrellspass last Sunday morning in the ACFL Div 1 league at home.  After a slow start , we got going with a well taken goal from Deccie Mullen, followed with a fine point from play by Sean Pettit to get us back in the game with the bare minimum between the sides. TJ Fox then made a great run forward, and finished a well worked move to the net, to put us in the lead going into half time by 2.5 to 1.5. A strong start to the second half with a Goal by Shane Tone and another Sean Pettit point put us in the lead with 15 minutes to go. Tyrellspass rallied then , kicking some excellent long distance points from play, with county star Ger Egan to the fore for the visitors. A pulsating game ended in a one point win for Tyrellspass. Our lads can take encouragement from the game, with some excellent performances all over the field. Full time: Rosemount 3.08 Tyrellspass 1.15.

Hard luck to Westmeath minors who were defeated by Offaly in the first round of the Leinster MFC last Saturday in O'Connor Park Tullamore by 0.13 to 1.04. There year is not over yet, as they now face Carlow in the next round through the back door system.
