Club Lotto

Please support our Club Lotto as this supports the day to day costs of running the club. Club lotto envelopes can be got from any of the local shops and pubs, at Bingo on Monday nights or from any of the committee members. The Lotto draw takes place every Monday night during bingo in the local Community Centre. The Cost is €2 a ticket. Currently the Jackpot stands at €2,150. There was no winner of last week's Jackpot. €20 Euro winners on the night were Peter McDonagh, Ann Baugh and Martin Arkins - well done to all.

Last Man Standing

With round 2 of our Last Man Standing Competition complete, there was plenty of fallers after the round 2 results with 15 players heading for the exit door. So heading into round 3 only 9 players remain. Will we even see round 4 at this stage? Who knows! Remember to get your pick in before next Saturday evening and good luck to the nine remaining players.

Club Registration

It's that time of year again folks when annual registration payment is required. Its €40 for adults, €75 for a family family, €20 for OAPs & 3rd level students and €10 for under 18's. Players whose membership is not up to date are not insured to train or play with the club. Payments can be made to any of the club officers. We will have our registration day on Saturday 4th March from 11am to 1pm at the club grounds in Clonmellon where parents/guardians can come and register their children for the 2017 season and details for the year will be given out such as coaches for each age group, training times/days etc. It is very important that all Juvenile players are registered before the season starts as this ensures they are covered for Insurance for the year ahead and it costs just 10 euro for the year. All Juvenile players are also asked to bring their playing gear on the day too as there will also be a football kick- about for them to knock off those winter cobwebs! So join us on the day which will officially kick off our 2017 season, registration on the day will be for all ages and as always, new players are more than welcome so please spread the word!

Junior team details

Training continues this coming Friday night in Clonmellon at 8pm. Our next fixture is a league game against Tubberclair scheduled for March 4th next in Tubberclair. When the 2 teams met in last year's league encounter, St. Pauls came out on top by 6 points so hopefully the lads can put in a similar performance.

St. Pauls crested bobble hats.

The club have ordered a batch of its very own crested Bobble hats and we expect to receive them in the new two weeks. If you would like to purchase one please contact Barry Clarke or any committee member. They cost €12 and are ideal for keeping yourself warm on these cold spring days. Check out our Facebook page for design images.

Indoor U-6's Nursery

The club will be starting a 4 week indoor U-6 Nursery programme in the local community centre on Thursday March 2nd from 6:30pm - 7:30pm where boys from Junior & Senior Infant classes will be invited to come and get introduced to Gaelic Football in a safe & fun filled environment. Parents are asked to send a drink with the children who are attending and €2 per child per night to cover lighting & heating costs.

A word of thanks

The club would like to thank Michael Muldoon, Lenny Higgins and Tommy Daly for the recent repair work they did on the club grounds in getting it ready for the season ahead. Thanks also to Gary O'Neill of Allied Recycling for the use of their Teleporter.

The Brownstown Variety Show.

Well done to all who were involved in last weekend's Brownstown show. From young to old everyone gave it their all on stage. The singing and acting was second to none especially from the little ones who were excellent. The people off the stage also excelled from the production crew to the lighting & sound people to the back stage folks who helped out.

Well done

Well done to the hurlers of Brownstown who recorded a 1-13 to 1-09 win against Ringtown in the opening game of Division 2 of the All County Hurling League last weekend.

Safe travels

All of us here at St. Pauls GFC would like to wish Robbie Dugdale the very best of luck as he heads off for Australia later in the week. Have a great time on your travels Robbie and remember your jersey will be waiting for you when you get back.

Condolences

The club would like to offer its condolences to the Burke Family Kilskyre Rd, Clonmellon and the Devine family, Castlepollard on their recent bereavements.
