O'Byrne Cup
We were delighted to host the Westmeath senior footballers versus NUI Maynooth in the O'Byrne Cup in Páirc Chiaráin on Sunday.  Congratulations to Athlone's Noel Mulligan, Jordan Marshment, John Egan and Alan Gaughan who all featured, it was great to see so many club men representing the county on their home pitch.  Westmeath made a strong second half recovery to win on a scoreline of 2-19 to 3-10 but unfortunately did not make the semi-final.  Thanks to all the club members who helped out on the day and to the ground staff who had the pitch in such good condition.
