St Pauls Clonmellon notes

October 21, 2016

Stars for the night.

Well what a night that was! Never in a million years did we imagine the support our local communities would show us when asked. All of here will be eternally grateful to everyone for their support over the last few weeks for making last Saturday night such a success. Therefore we would like to thank the following…….
The event Committee headed by the wonderful Marie Clarke. Sharon Reilly. Shirley & Tommy Conlon. The management & staff at the Darnley Lodge Hotel Athboy. Take 2 Productions. The numerous businesses who bought adds in our Programme. Those who kindly donated prizes for the raffle. The very talented 13 acts that made the show so entertaining. Olga Donelan-Mulligan for doing the acts make up on the night. The judging panel of Jimmy Weldon, Joan Daly and Kieran Martin. The Westmeath Examiner. Our friends at Brownstown Hurling Club for their support. Darren Monaghan & Mercury Engineering. Those who sponsored the acts and finally you the public for coming out on the night to support our fundraiser by buying the tickets, the raffle tickets, the programme and the votes for the acts - all of us here appreciate your effort and value your ongoing support.
A final word must go out to our deserving winners; Declan Clarke & John McCabe or should we say "Kenny & Dolly". Ye were worthy winners and are thoroughly deserving of the title of "Stars for the night winners". Thank you guys for the work and effort you clearly put into your routine.

Retirement night.

After 40 years of loyal service and 1000's of children educated, Ms. Deirdre O'Boyle has retired as principal of Clonmellon National School. Please come along to the school on Friday Oct. 21 at 7pm to say goodbye to someone who had such a positive influence on many of us here in the Clonmellon & surrounding areas. All of us here at St. Pauls GFC would like to wish Deirdre the very best in her retirement.

Club Lotto

Club lotto envelopes can be got from any of the local shops and pubs, at Bingo on Monday nights or from any of the committee members. The Lotto draw takes place every Monday night during bingo in the local Community Centre. The Cost is €2 a ticket. Currently the Jackpot stands at €2000. There was no winner of last week's Jackpot.

Condolences

St. Pauls GFC would like to offer its condolences to the Davis family, Archerstown on the recent death of Bernie Masterson, Castlepollard. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.
