St Lomans Mullingar Gaa Notes

U10 Boys

Twenty-six of our brave U10 boys headed off to St Marys Rochfortbridge on Saturday morning to play in a blitz organised by the local club. The lads were not to be put off by the terrible weather conditions and played group games against Edenderry, St Mary's Rochfortbridge and Garrycastle.

The 10 year olds built up a first half lead in their Tier 4 final against Milltownpass but could not hold onto it in the second half. The 9 year olds made no mistake in their Tier 2 final - scoring two quick goals against Moate to get into an early lead and never looked back.

Well done to the boys and a special mention to the coaches (Adrian, Seán, Paul & Shane) and parents who stood out in the rain for five hours. Thanks to Michael Clarke and all his team at St Mary's Rochfortbridge for organising such an enjoyable tournament. Better luck with the weather next year!

The Kieran Mc Gurran Captains prize took place in Moate Golf Club last week with over thirty players turning out. The winner of the Harry Devine Memorial Cup was Dave Doolin with 42 points. It was certainly a lucky week on the lotto front with our Jackpot of €7,500 been won! The lucky winner was Fiona Mullen who correctly picked the winning numbers which were 1,9,17,25. Congratulations Fiona!! Next week's Jackpot will be €1,000.

Bumper Saturday!!!

This coming Saturday October 1st will certainly mark the busiest day of 2016 in the club's calendar! The U14 boys play their final against Coralstown Kinnegad in Cusack Park 10.45am. All roads then lead to The Downs where the Senior Ladies play their Championship Final against Garrycastle at 1pm. The final part of the Triple Header is a trip back to Cusack Park for the Men's Senior Quarter Final also against Garrycastle at 3pm.

On the conclusion of the games all players and supporters alike will hopefully be able to sit back and enjoy the All Ireland Final Replay at 5pm! The club asks all members to attend the matches in numbers and wear your colours! Best of luck to all our team's on the day!
