Ballinagore GAA Notes

September 26, 2016

Lilliput Gaels U10 Football

Our young lads had a great win on Sunday against Castledaly in the first round of the Coughlan cup in Ballinagore. Despite the rain we played great football, defended well, moved the ball quick and took some great scores. Eoin Carey, Philip Reynolds and Eoin Robinson stood out in defence, Adam Cassidy and Adam Clarke were dominant at midfield while up front Jack Maloney, David O'Malley and Rory Quinn took some great scores. We play Castledaly next on Tuesday in Castledaly at 18:15. We also send our best wishes to Patrick Maloney who broke his arm during the week. He was a big loss to our team on Sunday and we hope to see him back in action soon. Team: Ciaran Doran, Conor Maloney, Eoin Robinson, Eoin Carey, David Costello, Adam Cassidy, Adam Clarke, David O'Malley, Jack Maloney, Rory Quinn, Sean Bolger, Subs used Philip Reynolds, Shane Maloney, Cian Corcoran, Aaron Jackson, Luke Robinson, Darragh Mulligan, Caomihe Clarke.

School Football

Our school team played Milltown in the opening round of the Cumann na mBunscoil competition on Friday in Ballinagore.  On the day we were beaten by a very strong and capable side but our young team played some great football and never threw in the towel. Team: Dylan Carey, Alex Slevin, Brian McEntyre,  Philip Reynolds, Jack Gannon, Aisling Daly, Jemma Seery, Niall Claffey, Sean Macken, Leyla Oaka. Hard Luck

Hard luck to our neighbours Kilbeggan Shamrocks, who lost out to CFCW in the Junior final on Sunday and also to our underage partners, St Malachy's, who lost to Maryland in the senior playoff on Friday. On a more positive note, a big well done to Roisin McKeon who did a magnificent job singing Amhran na bhFiann before the Junior Final on Sunday.

Fitness Classes Update

Our Autumn fitness class schedule is back in full swing. Our class schedule is: Monday Zumba 19:00-20:00; Yogalates 20:00-21:00; Wednesday BodyTone 19:30-20:30. There are some spaces available in all classes so everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun. There has also been some interest in getting a Yoga class going for men in the area on a Wednesday evening after BodyTone. Yoga is ideal for anybody that would have a back problem or similar injury. It places great emphasis on muscle flexibility and strength through a variety of stretching and exercises. The benefits are noticed immediately. If you are interested or know somebody who it would benefit, then please call in to one of the classes above, text the club phone on 087 9211448 or email [email protected].
