JFC quarter-final v Garrycastle

The identity of our JFC quarter-final opponents is finally known after Garrycastle defeated St. Loman's by 5-11 to 4-11 in a playoff last Sunday. The game is set to take place on the weekend after next.

Night at the Races

Our Race Night in Larrigy's last Saturday was a tremendous success. The club would like to thank everyone who supported the event - which is our main fundraiser for this year - in any way. A big thank you also to compere TP O'Gorman and auctioneer Paddy Dunican. The winner of the two All-Ireland hurling final tickets which were raffled on the night was Croghan man Michael Kelly, who also won our lotto jackpot recently.

Minor v Killucan

Despite producing a very gutsy performance, Kilbeggan/St. Joseph's suffered a 2-13 to 4-11 defeat to Killucan in Division 3 of the MFC in Killucan last Tuesday evening, August 23.

At half-time, we trailed by 2-6 to 4-4 with Michael Carton and Aaron McDonnell getting the goals. Diarmuid Egan and McDonnell kicked some excellent points after the restart, but we couldn't get the goal needed to reel in the home side. Hopefully, we can push on from this encouraging performance which saw all but one point of our tally come from open play.

Team: Ryan Coughlan; Dylan Hawe, Michael Pettit; Keith Corcoran, Brian Keegan, Dylan Maloney; Aaron McNamee, Aaron McDonnell; Eoin Kelly, Rory O'Neill, Conor Kelly; Michael Carton, Ross Elliffe. Sub: Diarmuid Egan.

Summer Camp

There was a great turnout of youngsters for our Summer Camp which took place last Tuesday and Wednesday in St. James' Park. Thanks to Alan McCormack and the other coaches for helping to make the Camp such a resounding success. Each child was presented with a Kilbeggan Shamrocks t-shirt as a memento of their participation in the Camp, which looks set to become an annual event.

Lotto

Last weekend's lucky numbers were 5, 16, 17 and 20. Brendan McMahon was the only Match 3 winner. Next Saturday's draw will take place in McNamara's when the jackpot will be €2,400.
