Junior Hurling

On Tuesday evening our Junior Hurlers took to the field in Delvin in their opening championship outing against Clonkill. After a tight hours hurling Delvin came out on top on a scoreline of Delvin 1-13 Clonkill 1-11 Team:- Barry Williams, Paddy Poynton, Johnny O'Reilly, Sean Carroll, Aaron McCormack, Conor Dolan, Stephen Reilly, John Cogam, Eoin Carolan, Ollie Cassidy, Niall Williams, Fintan Cox, Johnny Ivory, John O'Shaughnessy, Johnny Ivory Subs:- Dan Clune, Daniel Flynn, Sean Gaffney, John Vaughan

On Saturday evening we travelled to Crookedwood with a bare 15 to play the home team in a Junior League match and after showing great determination we went in front for the first time with our last point of the game to win on a scoreline of Delvin 0-15 Crookedwood 1-11. Junior Football

Delvin's footballers took to the field twice this week in both league and cup action.

On Thursday Rosemount travelled to Delvin for a Division 6 league encounter and on Sunday Delvin travelled down to Finea for the quarter final of the Junior cup.

Unfortunately Delvin fell to disappointing defeats in both encounters.

Much work to be done before our next championship outing.

Underage

Our 10 footballers had two tough outings against stronger opposition in the blitz held in Springfield on Tuesday night. Our U10 hurlers had a couple of great performances in the hurling blitz held on Saturday in Ringtown.

Our U12 hurlers were very unlucky on Friday evening in Delvin v Raharney when a last minute goal gave Raharney the league points on a score of Delvin 0-5 Raharney 2-0 Team & Scorers :- Sean Cassidy, Dylan Daly, Seb McPherson, Jack Forde, Tadgh Horan (0-4), Enda Newman, James Murtagh (0-1), John Bray, Mark Farrelly, Steven Cassidy, Peter Kellaghan, Kyle Flynn, Oisin Kelly, Cathal Cully, Diarmuid Martin

The U14 hurlers of St Ernan's put up a great performance against Lough Lene Gaels on Thursday  evening and despite racking up 18 scores lost out on a score of Delvin 2-16 LL Gaels 6-6

St Ernan's  U16 hurlers and footballers had great wins over Cullion and Moate respectively

Golf Classic

Our Annual Golf Classic takes place on the Bank Holiday Monday June 6th in Delvin Castle Golf Club. Team of 4 - €120 - timesheet is filling up fast - Contact Martin on 085-8354528 

Annual St. James' Table Quiz

The 7th Annual St. James' Table Quiz will take place in the Blue Hackle pub in Delvin on Friday the 10th of June at 9pm. This quiz has been very popular over the years and has raised huge amounts of money for the oncology unit in St. James' hospital. There will be a raffle on the night with loads of prizes, please come and support a very worthy cause.
