Fresh from their relegation to Division Four, Westmeath have been dealt a further blow with the news that they will be missing at least three players for the Leinster SFC opener.
The Midlanders will meet the winners of the Longford/Offaly clash, but they must do so without the likes of Ray Connellan, Shane Dempsey and Paul Greville.
Connellan is due to go to Australia for an Aussie Rules training camp, which will see him miss the Leinster clash on June 12th.
Dempsey has revealed that he is travelling to the US on a J1 Visa and will be gone for the entire summer, while Greville has opted off the panel citing that he couldn't give the necessary commitment.
Speculation is also growing that defender Paddy Holloway is also heading for the U.S for the summer, while Paul Sharry is in a race against time to be fit as he recovers from knee surgery.
