Coffey welcomes 'huge test'

Athlone manager Tom Coffey is adamant that nothing less than 100% from his players will do against Ratoath in Saturday's Leinster club IFC final.

Coffey will bring his charges to Cusack Park at the weekend and they should be in a confident mood, having impressed throughout the campaign so far.

However, they face a Ratoath side who too will be brimming with confidence and Coffey revealed to the Westmeath Independent that they have a lot of homework done on their opponents.

"We went into this with the aim of winning the competition, otherwise there was no point taking part. We did great to win in Westmeath but the group is keen for more success," stressed Coffey.

"But it certainly is hard to get over the line in Leinster, no matter if it's at senior or intermediate level and we know that Ratoath will be just as keen as us to make a mark in the final.

"We're glad the game is local, in Mullingar, especially having had a couple of really long treks in Leinster so far."
