Notes as of 15th November 2015

U16 Championship
Our U16 Team was defeated by neighbours Ringtown in the Div2 Final in St Lomans on Sat 14th November on a scoreline of Pollard 1-06 Ringtown 2-10.   The Pollard boys battled hard and can be proud of their performance, especially the younger lads, six of whom are still U14 and stood up to the bigger and stronger Ringtown Team.  At Halftime the sides were tied at 0-05 a piece.  D.Devine had an excellent game in goals, making several good saves. He was always rock steady under the high ball and his lengthy clearances helped setup numerous Pollard attacks and were so helpful to relieving pressure on the Pollard defence. He was assisted galantly in defence by the hard working E. English and M.Leahy whose tigerish tackling helped foil numerous Ringtown attacks. Anthony Fagan, Barry Dowdall and young Charlie McCormack controlled the halfback line clearing everything that came their way. The hard working Mark Leahy and M.Carroll fought like tigers throughout tackling for every ball and never giving up.  Up front all six fowards worked hard chasing down every ball and never giving the Ringtown defence any easy clearances. The Gibbons brothers, J. Mulvaney, S. Carroll and O.Gaffney battled hard and were unlucky not to find the back of the Ringtown net with both B.Gibbons and J. Mulvanney always looking dangerous.  On  behalf of Castlepollard Hurling Club we thank the mentors Kevin Gavigan, John English and Alfie Devine for their time and efforts , the U16 panel and all parents and supporters who were there on the day to support the boys.

AGM
Our AGM will take place on Friday 11th December in the Parish Hall @ 8pm. All welcome.

Fundraising Bag Pack
Castlepollard Hurling Club had a Fundraising Bag Pack at Dunnes Stores Mullingar on Fri 13th and Sat 14th Oct.  The Executive of  Castlepollard Hurling club would like to thank the Management and staff of Dunnes Stores, all our helpers and thoses who supported  us over the two days.

Ned Flynn
The CFCW Football Club are holding a Night to Honour Ned Flynn in Hotel Castlepollard on Sat 28th November @ 8pm.
Tickets E10 and food and Music on the night. Contact Seamus Sheridan for more info and or tickets.

Bingo
Our weekly Bingo continues every Sunday night at 8.30pm in the Hurling Complex.  There was no winner of the Main Jackpot of  €15,000 last Sunday night.  Our 2nd Jackpot of €5,400 was not won and now stands at €5,500. 
   Bonus Ball Game #1 :- lucky winner of  €100 prize was Pauline Finnan.
   Bonus Ball Game #2 :- lucky winner of  €100 prize was Ita Connell .
Winner of the Turkey Voucher was Sharon Sheridan.

Lotto Draw
Our next Lotto draw will take place at the Bingo on Sunday 22nd November 2015.  New Jackpot will be €10,200.
