Garrycastle's reign as Westmeath football champions is over after they slumped to a dismal 0-3 to 0-11 defeat to St. Loman's at a rain-washed Cusack Park this evening.

The club which has won seven Flanagan Cups since 2001 and reached the 2012 All-Ireland club final could be about to enter a valley period after failing to reach the knockout stages for the first time in many years. With county man Shane Dempsey to the fore, Luke Dempsey's St. Loman's were always in control and will now face Coralstown/Kinnegad in the quarter-finals.

The other quarter-final will be between Castledaly and Killucan, with Mullingar Shamrocks and Tyrrellspass already through to the semi-finals after topping their respective groups.

In the SFC relegation playoff, Bunbrosna will face St. Malachy's.
