JFC quarter-final

Our opponents in the JFC quarter-final on Friday week, September 4 will either be Athlone or Mullingar Shamrocks.

We cannot play Garrycastle who have finished top of Section B, which leaves Athlone and Shamrocks battling for the second qualifying spot. Athlone, who drew with Garrycastle last Friday, currently occupy second place, but if Shamrocks beat or receive a walkover from St. Loman's in their remaining group game, they will leapfrog the Shannonsiders to set up a repeat of the 2012 JFC final.

Clothes collection

Our ladies footballers, who are preparing for a senior championship semi-final against holders Milltown, are having a clothes collection again this year.

Clothes, curtains, bed sheets, books, cuddly toys, old mobile phones and old laptops can be dropped down to the dressing rooms before the collection date, which is Thursday, September 10. Contact Noel Browne for more information.

The numbers drawn last weekend were 5, 19, 25 and 26. Moss Keenan, Mullingar Road, was the only match 3 winner. Next Saturday's draw will take place in Paddy Ryan's, Horseleap when the jackpot will be €13,450.
