St Josephs GAA Notes

Junior Championship (Round 6)

St Josephs 1-6  Ballycomoyle 6-16
Not too much to say about this only it was a very bad performance by St Josephs on Sunday 16 August in Springfield. Out of contention before the game, it was understandably very difficult to motivate players for this game and really it showed as we only functioned for very short periods against a focussed Ballycomoyle side.  Aside from the result, there was a farcical start to the game as a change of match times earlier in the week from 2-30pm to 1-00pm saw our opponents arrive late with the match throwing in at 1-40pm. Earlier, St Josephs had taken to the field alone at 1-10pm with the ball thrown in by referee Alan Coyne but players want to play games and the guys decided rightly to play the match even though the result went badly against us.

U14 girls into semi-final

Well done to the Kilbeggan/St. Joseph's U14 girls on their 2-12 to 3-4 win over Moate. The victory sets up a Division 1 semi-final against Athlone.

Lotto €7600:
The most recent draw was held on Sunday 9th August in Ryans for a Jackpot of €7500. The numbers drawn were 20,22,23 and 25 and there was no Jackpot winner. There was just one match three winner of €100 and that was Colin Casey,Laragh,Streamstown so well done to Colin. Next Draw is on Sunday 23rd August 2015 in The Beech Tree at 9-00pm

Rudai Eile:
There was great success for a number members of our Ladies football team who are also accomplished set dancers as they came third at the All Ireland fleadh on Saturday in the 15-18 girls set competition. Lisa Mc Cormack,Lauren Mc Cormack,Ellie Conway and Aideen Pettit were on the St Malachys group along with Aine Pettit as substitute so there was a very healthy St Josephs element to this success. Well done girls. We also wish Wayne Mc Cormack well on his forthcoming travels to Australia via South East Asia from next Friday. We hope you have a great time but not to stay too long as there will be a vacancy at Number 8 to fill on the Junior team.

PRO.
