JFC v Multyfarnham
Our JFC ambitions hang by a thread after we slumped to our third defeat at the hands of Multyfarnham in Springfield last Saturday evening.
Multy's 0-10 to 0-8 victory leaves us needing to beat St. Paul's on Wednesday week to have any chance of reaching the quarter-finals. With Paul's also fighting to finish in the top-four, it's effectively a do-or-die game for both teams.
After a promising start, we went into the break trailing by 0-4 to 0-6 before rallying to regain parity at 0-8 apiece. But Multy finished the stronger to repeat their 2014 semi-final victory over us.
Team: Brendan McMahon; Tadhg O'Gorman, Warren Maher, James Fox; Nigel Scally, Alan Fennell, David Marshall; Paddy Barry, Shaun Pidgeon; James Brennan, Kevin Smith, James Finnegan; Paul Fennell, Simon O'Neill, David Fennell. Subs used: Dean Fitzgerald, Emmett Dalton and Colm Heffernan.
Cul Camp
Last week's Cul Camp in St. James' Park proved to be a resounding success with over 125 children attending.
Fr Manning Cup
Congratulations to Kilbeggan/St. Joseph's players Tommy Finnegan and Eoin Kelly who were part of the Westmeath U16 squad that claimed the Fr Manning Cup at Kildare's expense in Longford last Wednesday. Tommy was goalkeeper on the night.
