Intermediate Football Championship
Almost two months after our opening round defeat to Tang, we are fixed to play St. Mary's, Rochfortbridge next Sunday in the second round of the championship in The Downs. Full details will be notified during the week on Facebook and text. We would really appreciate your support for this important game.

U14 Football Championship
Lilliput Gaels 4-17  Milltownpass 4-15
We secured our second win in this years championship by virtue of this hard earned win over Milltownpass on Sunday in wet and miserable conditions in Ballinagore. This was a great game of football from start to finish and our lads put in a storming finish to claw their way back from five points down to snatch the win with a late Cathal Maher goal. Milltownpass were worthy opponents, took the game to us throughout and lead until the last few minutes. However our lads team play, work rate and never say die spirit was enough to secure the narrow win in the end. Well done lads, keep up the good work at training and hopefully we will see more displays like Sunday as the championship progresses. Team: Matthew Looram, Cody Finnane, Paddy Doran, Lorcan Kiernan, David Jackson, Fergal O'Brien, Zack Wright, Darragh Seery, Conall Fagan, Conor Murphy, Cathal Maher, Jack Gallagher, Barry Bolger, Peter Reynolds, Eoin Glennon, Mark Kiernan, Cian Gavigan, Warwic Kirby.

Matt Slevin Memorial Trophy
Our U10 team were the big winners this weekend when they won the Matt Slevin Memorial Trophy in Ballynacargy last Saturday morning. On a lovely morning for football, our lads put in two excellent performances to defeat Kilbeggan/St. Joseph's and Caulry to qualify from their group for the final. In the final we played the tournament hosts, Ballynacargy. After an enthralling contest, Lilliput Gaels emerged two points winners and there were jubilent scenes at the end when they received the trophy and their medals. Well done to all the lads and their mentors. Our thanks to Ballynacargy for their great hospitality on the day.

The Late Owen Heduan
Our club and community was shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Owen Heduan, Cloonagh last week. Owen was a lifelong member of our club and was a hugely influential member of our team in his playing days. He was big, strong and was known far and wide for his high fielding. Owen continued to support Ballinagore after his playing career and his three sons, Pat, Tom and Damian all played for the club at various stages. Indeed Pat was a constant feature of our back line for many years until he hung up his boots last year. We extend our deepest sympathy to Owen's wife, Eileen, sons Pat, Tom and Damian, daughters Joan, Phyllis, Helena, Catherine and Claire, sisters Marie, Annie Jo and Eileen and all his relatives and friends at this sad time. May he Rest in Peace.

Club Lotto
Last weeks numbers were 13, 16, 18 and 22. There was no jackpot winner and we had no local match 3 winners. Next weeks jackpot is now at €13,520.

Barn Dance
Here's a date for your diaries and one that promises to be a great night! Ballinagore GAA and Ballinagore Equestrian Centre are currently preparing to hold a barn dance in Ballinagore Equestrian Centre on Saturday 24th October. That's right, the Bank Holiday Saturday, music, food and drink, a venue that was Millstreet's equivalent in it's heyday, what more could you want! Mark it down now.

Building Works
We are very close to commencing work on our new gym with the paperwork finally close to an end. We expect work to commence in the next week or two. While the building site itself will be closed off, we would ask all patrons and visitors to our grounds to exercise caution while entering and exiting the grounds. Help will be required at various stages of the works and we will be very appreciative of your support as the end result will be a major new addition to the club and our community.

Meet and Train
Meet and Train continues on Tuesday evenings at 19:30 at the walking track. It's suitable for all ages and fitness levels so come along and join in!
