Junior A Championship
Crookedwood 1-13 Lough Lene Gaels 1-10
We defeated the Gaels after an entertaining and tough game last Tuesday evening. Played on a good pitch on a nice evening we had the better of the exchanges in the first half and led by 1-10 to 0-6 at half time, the goal coming from Richie Crowley and the points well distributed between the forwards. The second half was a different affair as the Gaels threw the kitchen sink at us and clawed back our lead bit by bit. Points were hard to come by for our lads but the odd one we did get helped keep our noses in front. In the end we held out for a very hard earned win and great credit is due to all involved for the result, a result that leaves us in a good position in the championship. Every man played his part in full and the effort, determination and heart shown was a welcome sight to see. Team: Adam Mitchell, Alan O Mara, Damien Grifferty, Enda Murray, Johnny Nally, Ronan Wallace, Mossy Brennan, Conor Savage, Ian McGovern (0-1), Simon McCarthy (0-7) Micheal Savage (0-2) Kieran Yourell, Richie Crowley (1-1), Ger Brennan (0-1), J.J.Brennan (0-1), Shane Orme.
