Westmeath manager Tom Cribbin knows that his side will have to be at their best to see off the challenge of a confident Fermanagh side in Saturday's All-Ireland SFC qualifier.

The Lake County travel to Breffni Park this weekend without their talisman John Heslin who is ruled out of the game with a foot injury.

Fermanagh have impressed in the qualifiers with wins over Antrim and Roscommon, which Cribbin feels will be a huge boost to their confidence.

"You only need to look at their comeback in the last qualifier against Roscommon, who were promoted to Division One in the league early in the year, to see what Fermanagh are capable of," Cribbin told the Westmeath Examiner.

"In fact, they've shown great resolve in their last two games, coming back from four or five points behind, so we know there's a formidable challenge ahead of us on Saturday.

"The teams are on probably on a par and it might come down to who has the greater mental toughness, and I have to say our lads are in a good place in that regard after the championship we've had to date."
