A total of 13 teams from 3 counties took part in the first ever Kilskyre hurling 7's. Mullahoran, Brownstown, Gaeil Colmcille, Clonkill (2 teams) Moylagh, Navan O'Mahonys, Devlin, Boardsmill, Lough Lene Gaels, Dunderry, Delvin and Kilskyre turned up at two venues, Ballinlough and Kilskyre, to decide the destination of the Anthony Geraghty Memorial Cup

Hailing from a staunch GAA family, Anthony gave his all, both on and off the field, either playing or coaching youngsters. Anthony won senior hurling and intermediate football championships with Westmeath club Brownstown and sister club St Paul's before moving on to Kilskyre. There he enjoyed further success, winning a JHC medal in 1992 when the black and ambers defeated Trim in the final.

His untimely passing, was met with a wave of grief throughout the local parishes and further afield.

Both Clonkill teams, Kilmessan, Delvin, Kilskyre, Moylagh, Lough Lene Gaels and Brownstown advanced to the quarter finals.

Clonkill beat Brownstown and Delvin defeated Kilmessan in the semi finals to set up an all Westmeath decider. Delvin held the upper hand for most of the 14 minutes but a couple of late Clonkill goals gave them victory.
