14 BOYS LEAGUE

League Division 1A
St Lomans 1-7 Shandonagh 8-7
St. Lomans played host to our under 14 boys last Tuesday in the league. We Played with a strong wind advantage in the 1st half and turned around at the half time interval with a 7 point advantage. This was in no small part thanks to goals from Evan Molloy and Ryan Donnelly; both of which were set up by excellent ball winning and distribution from Lee Lyons. Gerry Duffy McAndrew and Fionn Glennon slotted long range points to give us a cushion that would not be easily defended against a St Lomans Team which had quality throughout.

As expected our opponents came out with all guns blazing at the beginning of the second half and St. Loman's closed the deficit to 3 points within 8 minutes of the restart. The pressure was intense. Some wonderful defending from James Kerrigan along with a fortunate crossbar strike saw us clear our lines and with Dylan Glancy now asserting himself in midfield we carried back into the danger zone. Brendan Killian was on hand at the end of a sweeping move to finish to the net and re-assert a six point lead.

The Shandonagh lads regained their composure to close the game out with goals from Dylan Glancy, Fionn Glennon and Ryan Donnelly and a superb point from Jay O Brien. This game could have gone either way and, while flattered by the scoreline, the performance was one of sheer guts and no little quality.
The match was most notable for the return of our trusty defender Feidhlim Glennon who were are delighted to see back in the Shandonagh Jersey following an extended injury
