"It was an absolutely phenomenal game," says Robbie after he fought back from 20-16 down in the third to win by 21-10 against Charly Shanks from Armagh.

"I'm delighted for myself for winning but in another way I'm gutted there had to be a loser."

McCarthy will now captain Team Ireland at the World Handball Championships in Canada in August.
