Moate All Whites GAA club notes

Moate All Whites Dinner Dance was held on Monday 22nd in the Grand Hotel.  We had a sit down meal for over 200 people and the club would like to thank John Joe and his staff for the wonderful food and service.  Dublin football legend Paul Curran was the guest of honour on the night and he gave a wonderful speech after the meal which set the tone for a fantastic night.  The night also offered the club a chance to hand out some awards to our players and members for their achievements over the past two years. 2013 club person of the year went to Sarah Jane Whelan.  2013 Senior player of the year went to Alan Claffey.  2013 minor player of the year went to John Corbally.  2014 club person of the year went to Caroline Gorman.  2014 Senior player of the year went to Eoghan Dalton and 2014 minor player of the year was shared by Ruairi Cunningham and Gavin Murray.  A couple of other people the club would like to thank are Tommy Gorman who was compare for the night and John Sheirdan who made the dinner despite other commitments.  There is a rumour Fr Noonan is going to ask Tommy for a hand at mass next Sunday but that has yet to be confirmed.  Moate's second team were out on Sunday against St Marys in a Division 6 league match.  Moate led by Gary Hurley won on a score of 3-13 to 2-6.  The moate team was made up of mostly young players who gave an outstanding performance against very tough opposition.  Moate All Whites Minor Board are running a 100/50km cycle and Fun cycle on Sunday 26th of April.  Registration takes place that morning at 8.30 am in Hogan Park Moate. The 100km cycle starts at 10.30 in Hogan Park Moate cycling through Clara, Tullamore, Kilcormac, Cloghan, Ferbane, Doon, Castledaly and finishing back in Moate. Entrance fee is €20 per cyclist.  The fun cycle starts at 12.30 from Hogan Park to Horseleap. Entrance fee €20 per family.  Finally, if anyone wants to become a full member with voting rights they need to pay their membership of €25 before the 25th of this month.
