Junior ladies v's Coralstown/Kinnegad

The junior ladies kicked off their 2015 league campaign at home against Coralstown/Kinnegad on Saturday afternoon. Well done to all the girls who put in a great performance but were unfortunately on the losing side on a score line of 1-13 to 3-1. There was great spirit, determination and, most importantly, team work shown by all the girls so keep it up - performances and results will improve!

The St. Paul's/Delvin squad that togged out on the day were as follows:

Hannah Ivory, Áine Shaw, Ann-Marie Moore, Deirdre Shaw, Kerry Hickey, Ciara Dolan, Saoirse Byrne, Karen Larkin, Megan Dolan, Robin Perry, Melissa Anderson, Caoilainn Clancy, Ailish Shaw, Aoife Burke, Carina Wilson, Sinead Neville, Lauren Anderson, Emma O'Brien.

The ladies team are next out against Shandonagh away on March 15th- best of luck girls!

Junior Men v's Ballinagore.

Like the ladies game that was held earlier in the day, the Adult men's team could not get their 2015 league campaign off to a winning start as they went down on a wet and windy Saturday afternoon to a stronger Ballinagore team on a score line of Ballinagore 3-10 St. Paul's 1-11. Playing against a strong wind and driving rain St. Pauls got off to the worst possible start by conceding an opportunist goal after two minutes. Against extreme weather conditions things didn't improve for the men in blue for the rest of the half and they went in at half time trailing on a score line of 3-7 to 0-3. The halftime break seem to do them good as a rejuvenated and more focussed St. Paul's appeared for the 2nd half and, aided by the strong wind, they starting to eat into Ballinagore's lead. Dominating the 2nd half of this match, St. Paul's outscored their opponents 1-8 to 0-3 but unfortunately Ballinagore ran out winners in the end. After the poor 1st half showing, the 2nd half improvement was encouraging but both the players & mentors know there is still plenty of work to be done if St. Paul's are to challenge for honours in 2015.

The team that lined out for St. Paul's v's Ballinagore on Saturday was:

Ollie Mulvaney, Ronnie Higgins, Robert Dugdale, Gary Daly, Ross Daly, Paddy Reilly, Gary Gilsenan, David Whelahan, John Fitzpatrick, Conor Slater, Johnny McGuinness, Kenny Higgins, James Moore, Niall Leonard, Conor Shaw.

Subs: Ronan Kiernan (for James Moore), Michael Murphy (for Ronnie Higgins), Mickey Travers (for Conor Shaw), Eoghan Reilly, Jack Carpenter.
St. Paul's GFC would like to congratulate Ballinagore on their win, thank them for a sporting game and wish them well for the season ahead.

Best of luck.

Best of luck to the captain and vice-captain of the Junior men's football team Johnny Fitzpatrick and Johnny Mcguinness. St. Pauls GFC are confident that the two men will represent the club with distinction & honour both on and off the field over the coming season and hopefully they will be bringing home the silverware to parish later in the year.

Also, we would like to welcome back and give our best wishes to Ronan Kiernan for the coming season in the blue of St. Paul's GFC. The club are expecting big performances from the native Cavan man now that his acting & dancing career on stage is temporarily on hold.
