Moate Community School claimed their first North Leinster Junior Football A title with this comprehensive win over St pats of Navan at a cold but dry Dunganny.

Moate CS 4-10 St Patricks 1-9

The winners played with the wind in the opening half and worked up a 3-7 to 0-2 interval lead. The Westmeath school dominated in most areas and early scores from Sean Petitt, David Fleming and Sean Clinton set the tone for the remainder of the half. Jason Reddy kicked the first of his two points for St Pats but Moate were in control. After twenty minutes Petitt got their first goal The corner forward added a second minutes later before team captain Daniel Heavin completed the first half rout.

Moate had the game in the bag after ten minutes of the second half. Playing into the wind they hit Navan for 1-3, the goal coming from Padraig Nestor. St Pats battled gamely for the remainder of the game and were rewarded with some fine scores. Aston Villa bound James Finnerty sent over the last four scores of the half while centre back Brendan Leacy surged forward to get the goal.

After the game Tom O'Donnell presented the North Leinster JFC A Shield to Moate captain Daniel Heavin.
