Moate All Whites GAA club notes

December 15, 2014

In the final game of 2014 Moate All Whites came up short against a resilient Milltown in the Junior Cup final.  Moate took an early lead through a Cian Bradley goal and kept that lead throughout the first half with a score of 1-4 to 0-4 at half time.  The second half saw the teams exchange 2 point each before the turning point in the game.  A goal form Milltown brought the sides level at 1-6 each.  Milltown's tails were up and they soon added another goal followed by a late point to win the match by 4 points.  Moate All Whites would like to congratulate Milltown on a great performance in miserable conditions.  On a positive note Moat got to blood a couple of our young players who joined the panel this year.  Andrew Gorman and Connor Sheridan both started the game and acquitted themselves very well.  While it was disappointing to lose a final it was the least important one we played in this year and the game time some of our younger players got will be of huge benefit to them as they begin their adult football careers.  Friday the 12th was our AGM and we elected a new chairman in Derek Claffey.  The club would like to thank Nick Linnane for his 3 years of service and considering the amount of silverware at the top table this year I think Nick will look back over his term with a lot of satisfaction.  Finally I would like to remind everyone of our Christmas draw taking place in Dons this Friday the 19th,  please come out and support.
