Former Westmeath goalkeeper Gary Connaughton has joined new manager Tom Cribbin's backroom team.
The 2008 All-Star has come on board as a selector for the coming year and his appointment is sure to be met with approval from Westmeath Gaels.
Connaughton was part of the Westmeath side that won the 2004 Leinster senior football championship and his outstanding performances during a lengthy career earned him nationwide reviews.
The Tubberclair clubman joins strength and conditioning coach John Doran, and former Portlaoise footballer Mark Kavanagh who will be a selector, along with Connaughton.
